Charlotte Colleen Schrage


Charlotte Colleen Schrage of Brashear, passed away Tuesday August 20, 2013 at the LaPlata Nursing Home.


Colleen was born February 2, 1935 in Kirksville, the daughter of Robert and Della (Potter) Stewart. On August 18, 1970 in Macon, MO she married Buster Eugene Schrage and on September 16, 2000 they renewed their wedding vows at their home in Hurdland. Buster preceded Colleen in death on October 16, 2000. Colleen was also preceded in death by her parents, one sister, Caroline Williams; two brothers, Richard Stewart and Garnett Stewart; one brother-in-law, Alva Williams; two sister-in-laws, Lu Etta Stewart, Anna Stewart; three nieces, Vicki Carter, Kathy Easley, Donna Stewart and one great nephew, Ellis Carter, Jr.


Colleen is survived by one-step-son, Darrell Schrage and wife Joyce of New York; one step grandson, Steven Schrage of Virginia; three sisters, Carol Alger and husband Kenneth of Kirksville, Sarah Stitzer and husband Andy of Kirksville, Norma McKim and husband Larry of Brashear; two brothers, Sam Stewart of Kirksville, Teddy Stewart and wife Glenda of Collinsville; several nieces, nephews and best friends, Kenny and Teri Crandall of Brashear.


Colleen worked most of her life in nursing and later at Edina Glove Factory until retiring. Colleen was a member and served on the board of Grace Fellowship Church in Kirksville until her health failed. She loved God, family and friends. And will be missed by all.


A funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday (August 24, 2013) at Davis-Playle-Hudson-Rimer Funeral Home with Pastor Brian Carter officiating. Musical selections will be “I can only Imagine” “Calvary the Reason Why” and “Old Rugged Cross”. Interment will be in the Forest-Llewellyn Cemetery.


Pallbearers will be Michael McKim, Ron Stewart, Eddy Stewart, John Stewart, Steven Stitzer and Rick Williams.


The family will receive friend from 10:00 a.m. Saturday until the time of the service at the
