Crystal Lea Buster

February 13, 1935 — October 9, 2013

Crystal Lea (Watt) Buster of Unionville, MO, went to be with her Lord and Savior on Wednesday, October 9, 2013, at the Putnam County Care Center.

She was the oldest child of Marvin and Beulah Fern (Montgomery) Watt. Crystal was born on the 13th of February, 1935, on her parent’s farm west of Green City, MO, in Sullivan County.

Crystal attended grade school in a one room country school house called “Hawkeye,” located west of Green City, one mile north of her parent’s farm. She graduated from Green City High School in 1953. She worked at Macy’s in Kansas City, MO after graduation and later worked at Lambert’s Glove Factory in Kirksville, MO, for six years, until she got married.

Crystal accepted Jesus Christ as her Savior at age fifteen at a revival at Yellow Creek Baptist Church west of Green City. She was baptized in a farm pond near the country church and was a member of that church. She was later a member of a Baptist Church in Lee’s Summit, MO, and then she joined the First Baptist Church in Unionville, MO, where she attended regularly and was a member of the Joy Sunday School class.

Crystal married Bobbie Lee Buster in Kirksville, MO, on January 26, 1963. Bobbie is the son of Reta (Mathes) and Jack Buster. To this marriage a son, Pratt Alan Buster was born. Crystal and Bobbie lived in Lee’s Summit from 1963 until Bobbie’s retirement from AT & T as an electrician in 1990. They then moved to the country and built a new house at the edge of Martinstown, MO.

Crystal enjoyed gospel and country music and she sang with the lady “Keynote Singers” in Unionville. She enjoyed working on genealogy and made several note books of her different family names. She also enjoyed reading her Bible, cooking, working in her flower garden, embroidery, helping in the Elm Township elections as a judge in Putnam County, traveling, and dancing. She truly enjoyed her grandson and son and his wife, going on walks and enjoying nature and God’s beautiful creation, as well as spending time with relatives and friends. She was a member of the DAR

Crystal is survived by her husband Bobbie of Unionville, MO, her son, Pratt and his wife Angie, and their son Grant, all of Grain Valley, MO. Her surviving siblings are a sister, Betty Munden and husband Jay of Lucerne, MO, and brothers Finis Watt and wife Shirley of Powersville, MO, and Pharis Watt of Blue Springs, MO. Also surviving is an aunt, Marjorie McNeese, a brother-in-law Jackie Buster and his wife Rowena, and sisters-in-law Ann Wilcox and Elaine Kramer.

Crystal was preceded in death by her parents, an infant brother, Morris Dale Watt, and her grandparents, Nova and Minnie (Tipton) Montgomery and William and Ila Jane (Kidd) Watt.

Funeral services for Crystal Buster will be at Playle and Jones Family Funeral Home in Unionville, MO, at 2:00 pm Saturday, October 12, 2013, with visitation one hour prior to the service. Interment will be at the Martinstown Cemetery.

Memorials are suggested to the Martinstown Cemetery and may be entrusted with Playle and Jones Family Funeral Home, 709 S. 27th St., Unionville, MO 63565.
