Ruth Maxine Morian

Ruth Maxine Morian, 95, of St. Charles, MO, passed away at the Bethesda Dilworth Nursing Home in St. Louis, MO, on Sunday October 13, 2013.

Maxine was born in Green City, MO, on February 23, 1918, the daughter of Elmer & Anna (King) Loyd, who preceded her in death. She spent her childhood in Sullivan County attending grade school and then high school in Pollock, Mo.

Maxine was united in marriage to Melvin Morlan on March 6, 1936. They were parents of two children, Ruth Tate of St. Louis, MO, and Johnnie Morlan of Excelsior Springs, MO. Maxine’s four grandchildren are granddaughter Joni Kroeger and husband Steve and granddaughter Janice Tate all of St. Louis MO, and grandson Craig Tate and his wife Julie and granddaughter Ginger Morlan all of Kansas City MO. Seven great grandchildren also survive: Josh and Jeremy Kroeger of St. Louis MO, John, David and Paula Hartke, Michael Jacks, Jr. and Maxx Tate of Kansas City MO. Maxine’s one great-great grandson is Anson Hartke of Kansas City. Three sisters in-law survive as well: Velma Loyd of Trenton MO, Betty Loyd of Plattsburg MO, and Louise Morlan of Kansas City MO, as well as several nieces and nephews.

Maxine was a member of the Faith United Methodist Church of St. Charles MO. She performed much volunteer work in many areas, and will be known for her love and devotion to her family.

She was preceded in death by her parents and beloved husband Melvin of 65 yrs. Five brothers also preceded Maxine in death: Clarence Loyd, James Loyd, Harold Loyd, Edward Loyd and Charles Loyd, as well as two sisters in-law, Alma Ruth Loyd and Donna Loyd; daughter in-law, Joyce Morian.

At her request, Maxine’s body was cremated and a graveside service will be held at the Unionville Cemetery in Unionville, MO, at a later date.
