Marilyn N. Morrow
Marilyn Morrow 91, of Unionville, MO, passed away Friday (December 13, 2013) at the Putnam County Care Center.
The daughter of Arta Leon and Ruby America (Nalley) Branscom, she was born May 12, 1922 in rural Livonia, Missouri. On September 23, 1940 in Worthington, MO she was married to Melvin Morrow who preceded her in death. Also preceding her in death were her parents, one daughter, Barbara Duncan, and twin brothers Arnold and Wesley Branscom.
Marilyn is survived by her son, Melvin Morrow and wife Hope of Unionville, one granddaughter, Mary Davis and husband Larry of Iowa, six grandsons, Art Morrow and wife Wanda of Graysville, Junior Morrow and wife Cindy of Kirksville, Allen Duncan and wife Lisa of rural Milan, Leslie Duncan of Texas, Rex Duncan and wife Garnet of Corpus Christi, Texas, and Joe Duncan and wife Tamara of Yellville, Arkansas, one great granddaughter Lisa Duncan, and one sister, Marjorie Warren of Boise, Idaho.
She spent most of her life in Putnam County, growing up in the Livonia area, and attended school in Martinstown. Marilyn worked for a while at McGraw Edison in Centerville,Iowa and at the Shoe Factory in Kirksville but was mostly a stay at home Mother and worked with her husband on the farm.
On October 10, 1976, in Worthington she was baptized by Brother Boyd Halford. Marilyn enjoyed gardening and canning, she loved to quilt, sew, knit, and crochet. She looked forward each day to her nephew Kenny’s daily visit. Her children were her pride and joy.
Funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday (December 18, 2013) at the Dooley Funeral Home with Brother Boyd Halford officiating. Burial will be in the Rose Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Kenny Branscom, Allen Duncan, Rex Duncan, Bubby Ruggles, Emmett Ray, and Art Morrow.
