Lois Emma Nalley

Lois Nalley, 84, of Unionville, MO, passed away at the Four Seasons Living Center in Sedalia, MO, on Sunday, December 22, 2013. She had been a resident there since 2011.

Lois Emma (Davis) Nalley was born in Putnam County, MO, on June 20, 1929, the daughter of Stanley and Josie (Scrivens) Davis, who preceded her in death. She was reared in Putnam County and she married Rollie Nalley in Unionville, MO, on November 27, 1946. He preceded her in death on June 9, 1981. Three children were born to this union: Joyce, Janet and David.

Lois and Rollie did seasonal work in the state of Washington several years while living and maintaining a farm in the Glendale area of Putnam County from 1957 until 1981. They also lived in Grand Island, NE, for 22 years where she worked a number of years in the electronic manufacturing industry with International Sensor Systems. Lois also worked in nursing homes and as a home care giver with Serve Link, helping Alzheimer patients stay in their homes as long as possible. She liked to garden and read religious devotional literature, but her grandkids were her greatest joy and were her life.

Lois was a member of the Centerville 7th Day Adventist Church in Centerville, IA.

Lois is survived by her son, David Nalley and wife Jeanyce of Greeley, CO; daughters Joyce Jumper and husband Ed of Rush Center, KS, and Janet Frink of Unionville, MO. Surviving grandchildren are Lisa Bramblett, Allan Jumper, Phillip Garr, Jerred Hurley, Doug Hurley, Danette Primus, and Jason Nalley. Twenty great-grandchildren survive as well as a brother, Robert Davis and wife Dolores of Unionville, MO; and two sisters, Opal Probasco and husband Harold of Huntsville, UT, and Dixie Burns of Newton, IA.

Lois was also preceded in death by a grandson, Jeff Jumper, three brothers, Glen, Homer, and Melvin Davis, and a sister, Jean Burns.

Funeral services for Lois Nalley will be at the Playle and Jones Family Funeral Home in Unionville, MO, at 2:00 pm on Thursday, December 26, 2013. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Interment will be at the McCune Cemetery east of Unionville, MO.
