Everett Junior Casady

Junior “Hoppy” Casady, 78, of Unionville, MO, passed away at the Putnam County Care Center in Unionville on Monday, January 6, 2014. He had been a resident there for only a brief time.

Everett Junior Casady was born near Graysville, MO, on October 23, 1935, the son of Elvin Kenneth and Willadeane (Hays) Casady, who preceded him in death. He graduated from Unionville High School in 1953. Junior married Maxine Barnhart and three children were born to this union: Patty, Sherry, and Beth. He later married Jan Day and three children were born to this union.

Junior worked road construction with Land Construction for 19 years, leaving that position in 1976. All that time he continued to maintain a farm and residence in Putnam County where he raised crops and cattle. Junior also liked to attend auctions. He bought and sold used machinery for a number of years. Junior married Joyce Anderson in Garden City, NV, on January 1, 1976 and she survives at home.

Others who survive Junior are his children. He is also survived by two sisters, Quida Mathes of Unionville, MO, and Chloe Hamilton and husband Kermit of Unionville, MO. Several grandchildren, nieces and nephews also survive.

Junior was preceded in death by a grandson, Jeremy Schaefer.

Funeral services for Junior Casady will be at Playle and Jones Family Funeral Home in Unionville, MO, at 11:00 am on Thursday, January 9, 2014. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Interment will be at the St. John Cemetery north of Livonia, MO.
