Kadie Campbell Johnson, 33, of Kirksville, MO, (formerly of Unionville, MO) passed away at her home on Sunday, January 5, 2014.
Kristen (Kadie) Deeanne Campbell was born in Unionville, MO, on November 5, 1980, the daughter of Donnie and Kathleen (Staples) Campbell. She was reared in Edina and Unionville and graduated from Putnam County High School in 1999. She then attended Northwest Missouri State University where she received a Bachelor of Science degree in psychology in 2003. Kadie graduated with her law degree from the University of Missouri-Kansas City in 2006.
Kadie joined the Kelly Lovecamp law firm in Kirksville after law school and that practice then became the Kadie Campbell Johnson Law firm with offices in Kirksville, Unionville, and Milan. She also served as the city attorney for Unionville, MO, as well as a member of the Missouri Bar Association.
Kadie was an outstanding student athlete at Putnam County and was an avid supporter of Putnam County schools after graduation. Her greatest loved was reserved for her three boys: Avery, Corbin, and Owen. Her passion for practicing law led her to service in many areas, especially in child advocacy.
Kadie is survived by her three sons, Avery Wayne, Corbin Blane, and Owen Pearse Johnson. She is also survived by her parents, Donnie and Kathy Campbell, her brother, Jettsen Campbell, and her sister, Kailey Campbell all of Unionville, MO. Also surviving are grandparents Jerry and Phyllis Staples of Milan, MO, and Gordon and Kay Campbell of Pollock, MO; niece Ashtten and nephew Aiden Campbell; uncles Steven Campbell, Marty Campbell, Mitch Staples and aunt Cindi Williamson; and cousins Manny Harrison, Shayla Precht, and Jacklyn Billington.
Kadie was preceded in death by her great grandparents: Thurman and Zelma Campbell, Mitch and Beth Staples, Agnes and Leo Kosman, Richard and Vivian Shanks, and Dale Falconer.
Funeral services for Kadie Campbell Johnson will be at Playle and Jones Family Funeral Home in Unionville, MO, at 1:00 pm on Friday, January 10, 2014. Visitation will be on Thursday, January 9, from 6:00 - 8:00 pm. Interment will be at the Campbell Cemetery south of Pollock, MO.
Memorials for Kadie are suggested to a fund for her boys and may be entrusted with Playle and Jones Family Funeral Home, 709 S. 27th St., Unionville, MO 63565.
