Sarah Sue Hicks, 65, passed away at the Putnam County Care Center on Tuesday, January 14, 2014.

Sarah Sue was the daughter of Evertt Sparks and Roxie Milford.

Sarah Sue lived in Unionville most of her life. She enjoyed watching westerns on TV and listening to music. She loved all animals and liked to visit with the family and friends who would drop by. Some of Sarah Sue’s favorite hobbies were making home made candies, cooking Sunday dinners in addition to holiday dinners, and looking forward to family reunions. She was very outgoing and loved life.


Sarah Sue Hicks is survived by a daughter, Dollie Walker and her man, Billy Jarvis of Unionville, MO and a son, Oaky Fletcher and wife MaryAnn of Las Vegas, NV. Eight grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren survive in addition to brothers, Randy Williams of Washington, IA; Charlie Williams of Keota, IA; and Jess Williams (Franie) of Washington, IA. Sarah’s surviving sisters include Leotta Clay; Maxine Williams; Jean Thillkill (Danny) all of Wellman, IA and Ann Jarvis (Robert Garr) of Delta, IA. Sarah is also survived by many nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents, Sarah was preceded in death by two brothers, John and Jackie; two sister-in-laws, Diann and Judy; and a niece, Veronica Darling.

Funeral services for Sue Hicks will be at Playle and Jones Family Funeral Home in Unionville, MO, at 11:00 am on Saturday, January 18, 2014. Visitation will be from 9:00 am until time of service. Interment will be at the Unionville Cemetery.
