Hilda M. Novinger
Hilda M. Novinger, 101 formerly of Kirksville passed away Sunday (January 19, 2014) at New Mark Care Center in Kansas City.
The daughter of Fred E. and Cora F. (Capps) Stone, she was born February 9, 1912 in Novinger, MO. On October 20, 1931 in Novinger, MO she was united in marriage to Kenneth E. Novinger and he preceded her in death on February 14, 1964. She was also preceded in death by her parents, two great grandchildren, Hilary Maureen Pulter and Kenneth Paul Meyer..
Hilda is survived by three children, Betty Cole of Roscoe, IL, Shirley Green of Kansas City, MO and Eugene Novinger of Gladstone, MO; seven grandchildren, Jannice Beaber of Kansas City, MO, Debra Stephens of Kansas City, MO, Paula Pulter of Haslett, MI, Dean Green of Kansas City, MO, Rick Novinger of Albany, NY, Pamela Meyer of Rockford, IL and Beth Cole-Nagy of Colorado Springs, CO; 18 great grandchildren and 15 great great grandchildren.
Hilda was raised in Novinger and graduated from Kirksville High School in 1929. She lived on a farm N.W. of Novinger from 1936 until 1967 when she moved to Kirksville. She worked at K.O.H. in the hospital admissions and business office until she retired in 1984. She moved to Kansas City in 2001 following a stroke to live with her daughter. She moved to the nursing home in 2009.
She was a member of the First United Methodist Church, United Methodist women, and P.E.O. chapter CZ.
Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Friday (January 24, 2014) at Davis-Playle-Hudson-Rimer Funeral Home. Burial will be in Novinger Cemetery. A celebration of life service will be held at a later date in Kansas City.
Visitation will be from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. at the Davis-Playle-Hudson-Rimer Funeral Home, 2100 E. Shepherd Ave., Kirksville, MO 63501 660-665-2233
