Marcia Helen Starbuck
Marcia Helen DeYong Starbuck of rural Queen City passed away Monday morning (January 20, 2014) in Northeast Missouri Regional Medical Center in Kirksville.
The daughter of Ira and Nellie (Schneider) DeYong, she was born October 26, 1922, near Wayland, Missouri. As a child she lived in Arkansas, Oregon, Washington, and California. She graduated from Warsaw, Illinois, High School in May 1941. She worked in Chicago, Illinois during World War II. On November 14, 1945 she was married to Shirley Starbuck and to this marriage five children were born, Margie, Evelyn, Mark, Bette, and Cheryl.
Marcia is survived by children, Marg Ball and husband Dan of Greenwood, SC, Mark Starbuck and wife Terrie of Queen City, Bette Schrage and husband Joe of Papillion, NE, and Cheryl Jarvis and husband Greg of Columbia, MO; nine grandchildren, seventeen great-grandchildren, and one sister, Janet Jingst of Fort Collins, CO.
Preceding her in death were her parents, her husband, Shirley, her daughter Evelyn, two grandchildren, seven brothers, and three sisters.
Marcia was a member of the Queen City Baptist Church and a lifetime member of the VFW Auxiliary.
Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday (January 22, 2014) at the Dooley Funeral Home with Pastor George Bradburn officiating and a Eulogy given by David Ball. Burial will be in the Myers Cemetery.
Pall Bearers will be David Ball, Steve Ball, Cole Starbuck, Logan Gray, Tanner Cain, and Travis Roberts. Honorary Bearers will be Quinn Gray, Howard Wettan, and Reece Jarvis.
Visitation will be 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. Wednesday at the Dooley Funeral Home, Queen City, MO 63561 660-766-2241
Memorials are suggested to the Myers Cemetery.
