Madlyn Dawn Laughrey

Madlyn Dawn Laughrey, 58, of Kirksville, died Saturday, Feb. 1 at Northeast Regional Medical Center.

Madlyn was born August 10, 1956 in Adair County, MO, the daughter of Vada Mae Branstetter Laughrey formerly of Green City, MO and Wilfred Laughrey formerly of Kansas City, Kansas.

Madlyn is preceded in death by her mother Vada and father Wilfred.

She is survived by two daughters, Brooke (Steve Kruse) of Canton MO, and Halee Holcomb of Kirksville and one son, Blake (Kelly Pigg) of Kirksville; two granddaughters, Chloe Mae Bertram of Canton, MO, Natalie Pigg Kirksville and two grandsons, Drew Bertram of Canton, MO and Nathan Pigg Kirksville; one brother, Michael McCloud of Kansas; aunt and uncle, Phyllis (Ronald Brantner) of Green City, MO.

Madlyn had a passion for singing and was blessed with a beautiful voice that allowed her in her younger years to participate in church choir. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Winigan, MO. Madlyn was also a retired nurse of thirty years working and helping others in Sullivan and Adair counties.

Madlyn will be missed by her family and friends

Funeral service will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Saturday, Feb. 22, 2014, at the Winigan Baptist Church in Winigan, MO with Pastor Johnson will officiate.
