James William Willis
James William Willis, 55 of Kirksville passed away Thursday (February 6, 2014) in Macon, MO.
The son of James Larry and Joann (Clark) Willis, he was born June 20, 1958 in Centerville, Iowa. On December 28, 1985 in Kirksville he was united in marriage to Sherry Lynn Willis.
James is survived by two daughters, Shelby Lynn Willis of Waurika, AR and McKenzie Willis of Kirksville; one niece, Mindy Hull and husband Chester of Centerville, IA; and one nephew, Cody Novotny and wife Darcy of Cedar Rapids, IA.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, and two sisters, Terri Novotny and Carol Willis.
James grew up in Centerville where he graduated from Centerville High School in 1978. He moved to Ames, Iowa where he met his wife and they moved to Kirksville and were married. He worked for O’Donnell’s Pest Control and for Lovegreen Ford until he retired due to his health.
He was a member of Faith United Methodist Church in Kirksville. He enjoyed building things, crafts, gardening and cooking.
Visitation will be held from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Thursday (February 27, 2014) with a memorial service to be held at 7:00 p.m. at Faith United Methodist Church with Reverend Shelia Swafford officiating.
