Kent Wayne Rimer age 51, of Denver, CO passed away Monday, March 10, 2014, in Denver. He was born August 18, 1962, in Edina, MO, the youngest son of James William and Norma Jean Rice Rimer. Kent grew up in Macon, Jefferson City and Kansas City, MO, where he graduated from Park Hill High School in 1980. The early part of his career was spent at Frontier and Southwest Airlines. He then transitioned to working in the construction industry. In 2003, Kent created Falcon Design and Development – a residential and commercial construction firm where he served as President and General Contractor. When not working, Kent loved to watch movies – John Wayne and Clint Eastwood were favorites. He, in unison with his brothers, could repeat every line of dialogue from “Jeremiah Johnson”. Large servings of popcorn, ice cream, cookies and homemade noodles were at the top of Kent’s list. Kent loved sports cars, kept everything neat and clean, especially loved Vandi and little dog Mojo. Kent married Alana Bast (Dolly) July 20, 1985. On August 4, 2004, he was united in marriage to Vandi Wharton. Surviving is his wife Vandi Rimer of Denver, CO, his mother Norma Jean Monroe of Memphis, MO, two brothers, Keith J. (Tamara) Rimer of Whitefish, MT and Kirk L. (Jane) Rimer of Dallas, TX, one niece Meredith (Bill) Rimer Ajello and one nephew James Rimer all of Dallas, TX, two step brothers Mark W. (Terri) Monroe and Darrell L. Monroe all of Memphis, MO, along with several aunts and cousins. Kent was preceded in death by his father James W. Rimer and step father Robert Monroe. Memorial services will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, March 15, 2014, at the Davis-Playle-Hudson-Rimer Funeral Home in Kirksville, MO. Pastor Paul Smith will officiate the services. Burial will be in Park View Memorial Gardens in Kirksville, MO. Music will be provided by Meredith (Rimer) Ajello. Visitation will be held Friday, March 14, 2014, with family receiving friends from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at the Davis-Playle-Hudson-Rimer Funeral Home, Kirksville, MO. Memorials in memory of Kent Wayne Rimer may be made to Hospice of Northeast MO.
