Gary E. Fry
Gary Fry, 61, of Queen City passed away early Sunday Morning, March 16, 2014.
The son of Floyd and June (Frobish) Fry, he was born April 24, 1952, in Lake Forest, Illinois. On June 11, 1972 in Wheeling, Illinois he was united in marriage to Christine Mueller who survives.
He is also survived by his children, Courtney Frederick and husband Joshua of Glenwood, MO, Kelly Vigil and husband Christopher of Nashville, TN, Whitney Smith and husband John of Franklin, KY, and Brandon Fry and wife LeAnn of Nashville, TN; grandchildren, Melissa Frederick, Gareth Frederick, Adam Vigil, Chrischianna Vigil, Christany Vigil, Gabriella Vigil, and Isabella Vigil; a brother, Kevin Larry Fry and wife Diane of Sleepy Hollow, IL; his step-mother, Elsie (Tootsie) Fry; one step-brother, Phil Aleo and wife Linda, and three step-sisters, Kathy Aleo, Cindi Sances and husband Jim and Missy Glover and husband Bill; his mother-in-law, Betty Mueller, several nieces, nephews, cousins, and special family, Jenny Hill and Jennifer Jones.
Gary was preceded in death by his parents, an infant brother David and an infant sister Cynthia.
Gary grew up in the Wheeling, IL area and attended the Wheeling Schools graduating with the class of 1970. In 1970 he moved to Kirksville where he attended Northeast Missouri State University. He worked for Boy Scouts of America at Camp Thunderbird at Cairo, MO for a summer. He worked for Hollister’s in Kirksville for seventeen years. He then became a Hearing Instrument Specialist owning his own company, Hearing Unlimited in Kirksville for over twenty years.
He attended the Queen City Baptist Church.
Gary was an avid hunter and, enjoyed shooting sporting clay with his son and grandson. He was an avid Chicago Bears fan and enjoyed watching his children and grandchildren playing sports. He was a dedicated businessman and a devoted family man.
Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday (March 20, 2014) at the Queen City Baptist Church with Pastor Tim Van Bebber officiating. Burial will be in the Park View Memorial Gardens in Kirksville.
Pallbearers will be Larry Fry, Brandon Fry, John Tillman, Charlie Ferdig, Kerry McGee, and Burt Randall. Honorary Bearers will be Gareth Frederick, Austin Fry, Joshua Frederick, John Smith, Chris Vigil, Trenton Tallman, Billy Robbins, Howard Oliver, Mark Henderson, Mike Frederick, Leon Brewer, Josh Van Drese, and Elijah Mendoza.
Visitation will be held after 3:00 p.m. Wednesday (March 19, 2014) with the family receiving friends from 5:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Dooley Funeral Home, Queen City, MO 63561 660-766-2241
Memorials are suggested to Hospice of Northeast Missouri, Schuyler County Cancer Relief Fund and Tuberous Sclerosis Alliance.
