Amos J. Turpin

Amos J. Turpin, 80 of Milan passed away Friday (March 14, 2014) at Northeast Regional Medical Center.

The son of Jack and Lilly (Jackson) Turpin, he was born December 25, 1933 in Keytesville, MO. On December 14, 1960 he was united in marriage to Virginia and she preceded him in death. He was also preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Andy (his twin), Oscar, Curtis, Goerge and Gene; an infant sister, Elizabeth at 6 weeks and an infant brother, Luther at age 14.

Amos is survived by a brother, Luther Turpin of Brookfield, MO and a sister, Emma Staats of Macon, MO.

Amos was raised on a farm around the Brookfield and Marceline area. He worked for Santa Fe railroad from 1948 to 1955, he did odd jobs and from 1955 to 1969 he worked for a bank in Brookfield.

Funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday (March 21, 2014) at Davis-Playle-Hudson-Rimer Funeral Home. Burial will be in Mt Pleasant Cemetery south of Marceline, MO.
