Donald Eugene Lammers

Donald Eugene Lammers, 75, of Livonia, MO passed away at the Putnam County Care Center on April 20, 2014.

Donald Lammers was born on May 18, 1938 in Fulton, Kansas the son of Donald and Nadine Lammers.  As a young man, Donald served as a Marine in the armed services and on August 25, 1994 he married Mary Sue McCoy.  Donald was a truck driver and when he was off the truck he tended to his prize tomato garden through the summer.  Donald enjoyed hunting and fishing.  He even mastered fixing venison in his smoker which was a huge treat for the family.

Donald Lammers is survived by his wife, Mary Sue of the home.  Daughters include Cindi Brailsford of Livonia, MO and Donna Lammers and son, Jason Lammers.  His step-sons include Kyle Spurgeon and wife Carla of Bloomfield, IA; Kenny Spurgeon and wife Keri of Osawatomie, KS; Brian Spurgeon and wife Tara of Osawatomie, KS and Mark Persinger of Topeka, KS.  His step-daughters are Cindy Banks and husband Steven of Mankato, KS; Trisha Busta of LeRoy, KS; Victoria Lewis of Lawrence,KS; and Wanda Ruetzel of Topeka,KS.  Donald’s surviving brother is Herman Lammers of Paola, KS.  Donald is also survived by 32 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, Donald was preceded in death by a daughter, Christine Boothe and 2 sisters and a brother.  Donald’s wishes were to be cremated and his family will personally see to his burial at a later date.  Arrangements were made by the Playle and Jones Family Funeral Home in Unionville, MO.
