Lewis L. Pruett, 78 of Greentop passed away Saturday (July 12, 2014) at home surrounded by his loving family.

The son of Lewis Noble and Olivia Virginia (Magers) Pruett, he was born January 20, 1936 in Elmer, Missouri. He was married to Barbara Joan Johnson and to this union seven children were born. He was later married to Judy Bennett and to this union two children were born.

Lewis is survived by his children, Vickie Sue Pruett of Greentop, Connie Kay Pinkerton Halford (Boyd) of Greentop, Joyce Ann Brown (Frank) of Kansas City, MO, Glen Leon Pruett (Victoria) of Hurdland, MO, Russell Dell Pruett (Shelia) of Kirksville, Robert Scott Pruett of St. Louis, MO, Michelle Ann Pruett of Story City, IA, and Christi Noel Pruett of Story City, IA; grandchildren, John, Jennifer, Troy, Christopher, James, Melissa, Kevin, Kelly, Rachel, Jessie, Eric, Crissy, Triston, Cody, Jacob, Patricia, Barbara, Gary, Michael, Alex, Jocelyn and Sheldon; 30 great grandchildren; one sister, Kay Beach (Charles) of Kirksville; one nephew, Randy Beach (Janet), and one niece, Debbie Hudnall (Brian).

He was preceded in death by his parents; one daughter, Laura June Heimer; uncle, Ralph Magers; and son-in-law, David Pinkerton.

Lewis grew up in Elmer where he attended school and graduated from the Elmer High School. He worked at the hospital starting with K.O.H. in 1975 working until he retired in 2004 from Northeast Regional Medical Center.

He enjoyed his family greatly. He loved spending time with his grandkids, going to family gatherings, and also enjoyed cooking, fishing and photography.

A graveside service and interment will be held at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday (July 15, 2014) at the Refuge Cemetery north of Kirksville with Reverend Boyd Halford officiating.

Pallbearers will be Troy Pinkerton, Chris Pinkerton, James Pinkerton, John Pruett, Kevin Lay, and Andrew Pruett.
