Taira Renee Byrn age 44 of Kirksville passed away Saturday (July 19, 2014).

The daughter of Jerry and Louise McMain, she was born on March 26, 1970 in Kirksville. She was united in marriage to Steve Byrn on June 26, 1993 in Kirksville who survives. She is also survived by one daughter, Rachael Byrn of the home; one son, Trever Byrn of the home; one grandchild, Kinzlee Byrn; parents, Jerry and Louise McMain of Kirksville; one sister, Kim Keyes and husband Michael of Kirksville; grandmother, Alma Jane McMain of Kansas City, MO; five nieces and three nephews.

She was preceded in death by her maternal grandparents and paternal grandfather.

Taira was raised in Kirksville and attended the Kirksville schools graduating with the class of 1988. She attended Connors State College and Moberly Community College where she graduated. Taira’s passion was caring for children and she spent her whole professional life directing Day Care facilities. At the time of her death she owned and operated Giggles and Grins Learning Center in Kirksville. She was a member of the Cornerstone Church. Taira was very interested in her children’s activities and made a point to attend every event they were involved in.

Funeral service will be held at 2:00 P.M. Thursday (July 24, 2014) at the Davis-Playle-Hudson-Rimer Funeral Home with Pastor Jeremy Broach officiating. Interment will be in the Green Castle Cemetery.
