Blanche Fowler, 94, of Unionville, MO, passed away at the Putnam County Care Center, Friday, August 1, 2014.

Blanche Louise Johnson was born in Schuyler County, MO, on August 23, 1919, the daughter of Arthur William and Neta Audrey (Hinerman) Johnson, who preceded her in death. She married Edward Leslie Fowler in Unionville, MO, on February 5, 1941. Blanche and Leslie lived in Livonia, MO, for over 50 years at different times. Blanche was a loving wife and devoted mother. She enjoyed her grandchildren and great-grandchildren along with cooking for family, gardening, golfing, bowling, and playing cards. She was an avid St. Louis Cardinal baseball and was a Missouri Tiger fan.

Blanche is survived by her son, Gary, and wife, Debbie, of Unionville, MO; two grandchildren, Leslie Patterson and husband, Rusty, of Osborn, MO, and Aaron and wife, Brandi Fowler of Stilwell, KS; and six great-grandchildren, Kassidie, Asa, and Avery Fowler, Layton, Ryann and Lauryn Patterson. Also surviving are two sisters-in-law, Wilda Johnson Hoover and Hazel Fowler Ware and several loving nieces and nephews.

Preceding Blanche in death in addition to her parents were husband Leslie Fowler on May 5, 2012, a brother, Arthur Johnson, brothers-in-law Bob, David and Gene Fowler and Merlin Shelton, two sisters Betty Shelton and Maxine Smith, two sisters-in-law, Abby and Eileen Fowler, and one nephew, Mark Smith.

Services for Mrs. Fowler were held Wednesday, August 6, 2014, at Playle and Jones Family Funeral Home in Unionville, MO. Visitation was hour prior to the service. Interment will be at the Unionville Cemetery, Unionville, MO.
