Alice Allene Davis

Alice Allene Davis age 90, of Kirksville passed away Wednesday, August 27, 2014, at Boone Hospital Center in Columbia, MO.

She was born February 7, 1924 in Kirksville, MO, the daughter of Allen Leonard and Alice Lucille (Harris) Amon. Allene attended school in Kirksville and on July 5, 1940, in Lancaster, MO, she married Floyd William Vincent, who preceded her in death. On July 26, 1970 in Kirksville, MO, she married Wilford D. Davis of New Boston, MO, who also preceded her in death. Also preceding Allene in death were her parents, son-in-law, Harry Mansfield and one brother, Harris Amon.

Allene left behind one daughter, Linda Mansfield of LaPlata, MO and one son, Andrew Vincent and wife, Janet, of Vancouver, WA. She is also survived by her grandchildren, Kelli Elizabeth Wyatt and husband, Markland, of Dillon,CO, Gilbert Charles Kruger, Jr. and wife, Kim, of Colorado Springs, CO, Kenneth Vincent and wife, Brenda, of Grand Canyon, AZ, Candace Kay Robinson of Vancouver, WA, Kevin William Vincent and wife, Michelle, of Vancouver, WA and great-grandchildren, Quincy Allene Kruger, Colby Charlotte Kruger, Jessica Hall, Julia Nicole Vincent, Noah Vincent, Alexis Robinson and Isaac Robinson; one sister, Marjorie Charles of Winterpark, FL and several nieces and nephews.

Allene enjoyed gardening, sewing, reading, playing cards and listening to bluegrass music. If you talk to those who knew her, you will often hear the word “feisty” and the phrase “faithful friend”.

Funeral service will be held at 3:30 p.m. Sunday, August 31, 2014, at the Davis-Playle-Hudson-Rimer Funeral Home with Reverend John Davison officiating. Music will be provided by Janis and Tom Mitten singing “I Believe” and “His Hand in Mine”. Linda Mansfield will sing, “Restore My Soul”. Burial will be in the Refuge Cemetery, north of Kirksville.

Pallbearers will be Eldon Hays, Charles Allen, Tom Mitten, Dickie Brown, Michael Chrisman, Chuck Kruger and Tim Mansfield.

Visitation with the family will be from 6:00 to 8:00 Saturday evening, August 30, 2014 at the
