James (Jim) Rhoads

James (Jim) Albert Rhoads, 74, passed away on Monday, September 22, 2014 at Bethany Manor Communities in Story City, Iowa.

James was born August 31, 1940 in Kirksville, Mo. to parents James.K. and Ola Mae Rhoads. James enjoyed doing word search puzzles, playing bingo, and watching court t.v. James also enjoyed visiting with the staff and other residents of Bethany Manor where they soon became family.

He was preceded in death by his wife, Claressa to which he adored. His parents and two sisters, Bessie Elaine Quaintance and Beulah Haas; sister-in- law, Darlene Martin.

James is survived by daughter, Roxanne(Kelly) Stockdale of Ellsworth IA; grandsons, Trenton and Kaden Stockdale; brother, Joe (Loretta) Rhoads of Kirksville; sister, Mary (Leland) Moyer of Atlanta, MO; brothers-in-law, Edmond Quaintance of La Plata, MO; Keith(Linda) Goldsberry of Rock Island IL, Larry(Sharon)Goldsberry of LaClaire IA, Dennis(Cathy) Goldsberry of Red Oak TX, Ronnie Martin of Fairfield IA and Several nieces and nephews.

The Stockdale family would like to express its deep appreciation to the Bethany Manor Staff and residents for welcoming him into their family. To his niece Angel Cook and to our many friends for supporting us for the last three years. We love you!

Visitation will take place at 10:00 am Friday, September 26 at Davis-Playle-Hudson-Rimer Funeral Home followed by a burial at Fort Madison Cemetery at 11:00 a.m..
