Lisa Tribble
Lisa Tribble, 51, of Unionville, MO, passed away at Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, MO, on Monday, September 22, 2014, after a courageous and well-fought battle with cancer.
Lisa Anne Guenzler Tribble was born in Freeport, IL, on December 28, 1962, the daughter of Kenneth and Marjorie (Ditsworth) Guenzler. Lisa grew up boating on the Mississippi River. She graduated from Lanark High School, Lanark, IL, in 1981, and then attended Highland Community College in Freeport, IL. She married David Tribble in Lanark on April 28, 1984. Lisa and David moved to Unionville in 1985 and Lisa attended Northeast Missouri State University (now Truman University) where she completed a B.S. in Secondary Math Education in 1988.
Lisa began her teaching career in the South Harrison (MO) School District where she also coached girls’ golf. She then taught at Putnam County R-1 where she also coached girls’ golf. She was famous for baking cookies for her teams. Lisa resigned left from teaching in 2011 to spend more time at home and to travel.
Lisa was a member of the PEO Chapter A, the Missouri Hereford Women’s Association, and the Unionville United Methodist Church. She also served on the board of the Putnam County Health Department and as an advisor to the Missouri Junior Hereford Association. She loved to watch her kids participate in High School sports, enjoyed traveling in YPO style, liked to camp, and became a Mizzou fan when her children entered the University. Lisa was a Chicago Cubs fan until recently spending more time in St. Louis where she was “converted” to athe Cardinals fan. She tolerated cattle shows, but loved the Missouri State Fair and the Junior National Hereford Expo. Lisa was diagnosed with Leukemia in September of 2013 and became an ardent supporter of the stem cell transplant donor registry.
Lisa is survived by her husband, David, of the home, and by her daughter, Lynnette Tribble and fiancé Ted Luecke of Kansas City, KS, and by her son, Derek Tribble of Columbia, MO. She is also survived by her mother, Marjorie Guenzler of Amboy, IL, and her sister Karen Metzen and husband Bill of Amboy, IL. Other survivors include Lisa’s mother-in-law, Vera Tribble of Unionville, MO,; a sister-in-law, Diana Bennett of Bethany, MO,; and nieces and nephews Garrett Bennett, Lindsay Hart, Justin Hart, Brittany Metzen, and Sammi Metzen.
Lisa was preceded in death by her father, Kenneth Guenzler, her father-in-law Gary Tribble, her brother-in-law Gary Hart, and a nephew, Jake Metzen.
A Memorial service for Lisa Tribble will be at the Unionville United Methodist Church at 9:00 a.m. on Friday, September 26, 2014. A tailgate party/celebration of life will be held at the Tribble home on Thursday, September 25, from 6:00 - 8:00 P.M.
