Benny Bill Eckel

Benny Eckel, 58 of Brashear, MO, passed away Wednesday, October 1, 2014 at Northeast Regional Medical Center.

The son of Duane and Audrey (Pavlik) Eckel, he was born April 4, 1956 in Goodrich, Michigan, where he also graduated High School in 1974. He attended Grand Valley State University and graduated from Mott Community College. On January 30, 1982, he was united in marriage to Marla Osborn.

Benny is survived by his wife, Marla; one daughter, Ashley Eckel and her fiancé Ben Deibert of Brooklyn, NY; two sisters, Jackie Eckel of Flint, MI and Wendy Bill and her husband Dennis of Swartz Creek, MI; along with several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, Ken and one sister, Jane.
Benny worked for General Motors in Flint, MI for 33 years until his retirement. He was also a member of the Davison United Methodist Church. Benny was an avid University of Michigan football and Detroit Tigers fan. He also loved to fish, camp, cook, golf and travel.

Visitation will be from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. Saturday, October 4, 2014 with a memorial service at 3:00 p.m. at Davis-Playle-Hudson-Rimer Funeral Home.
