Steve C. Preston
Steve Craig Preston 55, of Novelty, MO passed away unexpectedly at his home on Sunday, October 12, 2014.
The son of William Alfred and Thelma Jane (Moore) Preston, Steve was born September 29, 1959 in St. Louis, MO. On November 23, 1984 in Kirksville he was united in marriage to Patti Bowen who survives.
Also surviving are his mother, Jane Preston of Kirksville; one son, William Craig Preston and wife, Deanna with the U.S. Navy stationed on the USS Carney; four daughters, Samantha Michelle (Preston) Sthole and husband, Austin of Novinger, MO, Miranda Jane (Preston) Phelps and husband, Jakob of Novelty, MO; Bria Danine Preston of Novelty, MO and Marla Kehrberg; four grandchildren, William Hunter Preston, Joseph Wyatt Preston, Steven Ryker Preston and Harper Jane Sthole.
He was preceded in death by his grandparents, father, William Alfred Preston, and his daughter, Amanda Jenny Preston.
Steve was reared in St. Louis, MO until his teens, moving with his family to Fort Worth, TX. During a visit to Kirksville he met Patti and remained here. He attended Indian Hills College graduating with a Registered Nurse degree. He had been employed at medical services in the Kirksville area and most recently the LaBelle Manor Care Center in LaBelle, MO. He was a member of the Life Church in Kirksville; Community Volunteer Corp and the Cert Team. Steve was a quiet person but had a quick wit and sense of humor. He enjoyed the outdoors and taking long hikes. Steve was proud of his family, especially proud of his children and grandchildren.
Funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, October 15, 2014, at the Life Church in Kirksville with Roger Moore and Danny Dunn, officiating. Music will be provided by the Life Church singers. Burial will be in the Maple Hills Cemetery in Kirksville, MO.
Pallbearers will be John Hanley, Doug Davenport, Paul Shipman, Jermaine Talton, Clay Talton and Norm Snowbarger.
Visitation with the family will be from 6:00 to 8:00 Tuesday evening, October 14, 2014, at the
Davis-Playle-Hudson-Rimer Funeral Home
