Esther Earlene Norfolk, 87 of Brashear passed away Friday (October 17, 2014) at Samaritan Hospital in Macon, MO.

The daughter of Oscar and Emma (Brown) Lawson, she was born January 26, 1927 in Oklahoma. In 1945 she was united in marriage to Kenneth Norfolk and to this union nine children were born.

Esther is survived by her children, Donald Norfolk and wife Martha of Norwalk, IA, Sandy Hickey and Doug Herleth of Columbia, MO, Connie Norfolk of Brashear, MO, Jerry Norfolk and wife Jackie of Brashear, MO, Sharon Norfolk of Hallsville, MO and Beth Malsby and husband Rob of Fayetteville, NC; a daughter-in-law, Tina Fitzpatrick of Gibbs, MO; one brother, James Lawson and wife Coleen of Kirksville; 20 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren and nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; three sons, Gary Norfolk, Larry Norfolk and Dwight Norfolk; a daughter-in-law, Valleri Norfolk; a grandson, Douglas; a sister, Ruth Conley and a brother, Harm Lawson.

Esther lived in this community her entire life. She was a homemaker and a farmer. She was an active foster parent to many kids in the community. She loved animals, gardening, her flowers, her dogs and horses.

Funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Monday (October 20, 2014) at Davis-Playle-Hudson-Rimer Funeral Home with Reverend Darrell Draper officiating. Burial will be in Park View Memorial Gardens.

Pallbearers will be her grandsons.

Visitation will be from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. Monday at the
