Harold W. Willis Sr., 95 of Kirksville passed away Tuesday (November 11, 2014) at Twin Pines Adult Care Center.

The son of James V. and Minnie (Alexander) Willis, he was born August 25, 1919 in Kirksville, Missouri. On December 15, 1940 in Kirksville he was united in marriage to Virginia Walker.

Harold was raised in Kirksville and graduated from Kirksville Senior High School in 1938. He graduated from Truman State University with a degree in Physics and Math. He worked for the CIA as a design engineer from 1953 until he retired in 1977. He returned to Kirksville after his retirement and was active in the American Red Cross, Community Action Agency and the Food Depot.

He was a member of the First United Methodist Church.

Harold is survived by a daughter-in-law, Bess Willis of Kirksville; a brother-in-law, Merle Walker and nieces and nephews, Jane Walker, Dottie Walker, Jerry Walker, Alan and Jan Walker, David and Tracy Walker, Randy Walker, and Elaine Fraizer.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife; two sons, Harold Wayne Willis Jr. and Charles Richard Willis; three brothers, Vernon, Milton and Robert, and one sister, Letha Rees.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday (November 17, 2014) at Davis-Playle-Hudson-Rimer Funeral Home with Reverend Richard Northcutt officiating. Burial will be in Maple Hills Cemetery.

Visitation will be from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. Monday at the
