Richard L. Mayfield

Richard L. Mayfield, 73 of Kirksville passed away Monday (November 17, 2014) at his home.

The son of Frank Lyndell and Pauline (Black) Mayfield, he was born April 19, 1941 in Kirksville, MO. He was married to Ann McGovern in Boston, MA and to this union one daughter was born.

He was preceded in death by his father, Lyndell Mayfield, his mother, Pauline Mayfield; and one uncle, Bud Black.

Richard is survived by one daughter, Christina; grandson, Brent; brother, Robert Mayfield and wife Laurie; sister, Linda Mayfield Utter and husband Robert; one aunt, Ruby Mayfield Goley; uncle, Raymond Black; and several nieces, nephews and cousins.

Richard graduated from Mesa High School in 1959. He served in the United States Army and Coast Guard and was honorably discharged. He was a soldier, sailor and citizen. He retired from working from the city of Mesa, Arizona.

Richard loved Kirksville and all the people in Kirksville have been very good friends to him. Kirksville in a great place to live.

Richard wish was to be cremated and there will be no service.
