Gloria Joan Lanza Still passed away peacefully on 11/27/2014 in St.Charles, MO with her family at her side.

Beloved mother of Adam Hamilton Still (Judy) and Mark Lanza Still (Kelly) of St. Charles, MO and Dr. Richard Still, III of St. Louis, MO. Loving grandmother of Adam Hamilton Still, II and Andrew Taylor Still, IV of St. Charles, MO. She is also survived by her brother-in-law S. G. Schimenti and nephews George and John Schimenti of Greenwich, CT and Joseph Anthony Lanza, III of Philadelphia, PA.

Gloria was preceded in death by her parents, Joseph Anthony Lanza and Cynthia Slocum Lanza (nee Cunningham) of Kirksville, MO, her sister, Carmelita Lanza Schimenti of Greenwich, CT and her brother, Joseph Anthony Lanza II of Philadelphia, PA.

Gloria graduated from Villa Duchene High School in St. Louis, MO. She then attended the Jullliard School for the Performing Arts in New York City. After a brief Broadway musical and stage career she returned to Kirksville and started her family. She later graduated with a Master's Degree from Northeast Missouri State Teachers College (Truman State) in Kirksville, MO.

Gloria lived a full and diversified life from raising her children to farming, cattle ranching and real estate. She had a passion for cooking and horticulture. Her floral arrangements and designs won numerous awards at almost every flower show she entered. She eventually became a Certified Master Judge judging floricultural events throughout the Midwest. She was a lifelong member of the Daughter's of the American Revolution. She was also a member and past president of the Garden Club and Sojourner's Club.

She was a stunningly beautiful, outgoing and charming lady with her own unique style and elegance. Her dynamic personality made friends where ever she went. She will be truly missed by family and friends.

Graveside service will be held at 8:00 a.m. Monday at Maple Hills Cemetery. Entombment will be in Maple Hills Mausoleum.

Visitation will be from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. Sunday at Davis-Playle-Hudson-Rimer Funeral Home.
