Ronald Charles Snider
Ronald Charles Snider, 82, of Queen City passed away Monday, December 15, 2014.
The son of Cecil Cyrus and Emma (Armstrong) Snider he was born May 4 1932, in Palisade, Nebraska. On December 31, 1955 he was married to Carol Gross and to this marriage two sons were born.
Ronald is survived by one son, David F. Snider of Queen City; two brothers, Clifford Snider and wife Lola of Queen City and Ivan Snider and wife Maxine of North Platte, NE; one sister, Florence Snider Guffey Borger of Kirksville; two grandsons, Kody Snider and Coby of Queen City and Kasey Snider and wife Lacy (and baby Snider) of Kirksville; four great grandchildren, Ashton, Aden, and Aaron Snider, and Harley Snider as well as numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Cecil and Emma Snider and one son, Edward Lee Snider on June 20, 1961.
At age four he and his family moved to Denver, Colorado. At age eight he moved to Missouri where he continued to live except for the time he was in the military. He attended the Patterson Rural School and the Queen City High School, graduating with the class of 1950. Ronnie served in the United States Army during the Korean War. He was stationed at Fort Sill and Fort Robinson. He worked for Myers Bros. Trucking hauling logs, owned and ran a saw mill in Queen City, and hauled canned milk from local farmers, and progressed to hauling bulk milk to Allerton, Iowa, for several years. He then decided to haul water locally while he attended college in Kirksville, graduating in 1971. He was employed by the Schuyler County School District as a Business Education Instructor for nineteen years. He spent many years researching his family genealogy, traveling to various state courthouses and cemeteries. He enjoyed going to auctions and spending time with his grandchildren.
Carl and Carol Raine were his constant care givers for the last few years.
He will be missed by his family and friends.
Funeral service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Thursday (December 18, 2014) at the Dooley Funeral Home with Pastor Ben Wheeler officiating. Burial with Military Rites will be in the Queen City Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Kody Snider, Kasey Snider, Ashley Robeson, Carl Raine, Brad Oliver, and Carl Snider.
Visitation will be held after 12:00 p.m. Wednesday (December 17, 2014) with the family receiving friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the
