Charles Norman Oliver
Charles Norman Oliver 83, of Queen City passed away Monday (December 22, 2014) in Northeast Regional Center in Kirksville, Mo.
The son of Norman and Elsie (Collins) Oliver he was born July 23, 1931 in Worthington, Mo. On May 31, 1956 he was united in marriage to Rosemary Sue DeVault who preceded him in death. He was also preceded in death by his parents, two sisters: Anne Dufur and Mary White and two grandsons, Casey Spears and Anthony Oliver.
At an early age Charles moved to rural Schuyler County. He attended rural grade school and the Queen City High School graduating with the class of 1949.
Charles served his country in the United States Marines. After his honorable discharge he worked for Gingerich Body Shop. He then worked for Ward Jones Body Shop for several years and then the D & L Tire until his retirement.
He is survived by three children, Jacquelyn Louise Anderson of Queen City, Mike Oliver of Chillicothe, and Paula Aldridge and husband Harold Dean of Lancaster, three grandchildren: Lutrisha Hollen, Starla Wiedonkefer, and Apache Bluefeather Oliver. He is also survived by five brothers: Jack Oliver and wife Maudie of Downing, Gene Oliver and wife Wilma of Bland,
Robert Oliver and wife Glenda of Queen City, James Oliver and wife Lynn of Kirksville, and Gerald Oliver and wife Cheryl of Queen City, three sisters Joyce Abderholden of East Moline, Illinois, Linda Baker of Queen City, and Patti Sparks and husband Mike of Queen City.
A graveside service will be held Saturday (December 27, 2014) at 1:00 p.m. in the Tarr Cemetary west of Queen City with Pastor Sonny Smyser officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Dooley Funeral Home, Queen City, MO.
