Margaret Varley Hindman 90, of Kirksville passed away Wednesday, January 7, 2015, at the Northeast Regional Medical Center in Kirksville.

Margaret was born October 22, 1924 in Granite City, IL the daughter of Charles and Olga Varley. On October 2, 1945 she was united in marriage to Arlie C. Hindman who preceded her in death on September 3, 2001. She was also preceded in death by her parents, brother, Charles Varley, Jr. and sister, Bernadine Asperger.

Margaret is survived by her two sons, James A. Hindman of Lancaster, MO and Randall C. Hindman of Kirksville; five grandchildren, Dana M., James A., Tiffany, Nikki and Callie Hindman; four great-grandchildren, Steven and Tymbre Gomez and Jessica and Tommy Hindman and several nieces and nephews.

Margaret was reared in Granite City, IL, where she attended the public schools graduating from the Granite City High School. After her marriage to Arlie they lived in Granite City until moving to Kirksville in 1959. She was active in the family business known as the Hi Ho restaurants. She attended Northeast Missouri State University (now Truman State University), where she received a B.S.E. degree, Masters degree and a Specialist degree. She was a former well know educator who received many grants and was appointed Counseling Representative by Dr. Charles McClain. After completing her education she taught school in Elmer, MO and later was employed at the Novinger RI School District. She was a certified Psychological Examiner and Counselor until her retirement.

She was a member of the Mary Immaculate Catholic Church in Kirksville.

Entombment service will be held at 2:00 pm. Friday, January 9, 2015, at the Maple Hills Chapel Mausoleum with Father Chris Cordes officiating.

Arrangements are under the direction of the Davis-Playle-Hudson-Rimer Funeral Home.
