Byron (Pee-Wee) Cooper, 66, passed away unexpectedly Sunday (February 1, 2015) at his home in Greentop, Missouri.

The son of Walter and Dorothy Ann (Lay) Cooper, he was born March 8, 1948 in Queen City. In October of 1966, he was united in marriage to Elizabeth Losey and to this union two children were born, Rodney and Angie.

Surviving are his children, Rodney Cooper and wife Krista of Greentop, and Angie Webber and husband Jimmy of Sandwich, IL; grandchildren, Isaac Sampson, Maggie Sampson, Trent Webber, Haley Cooper and fiancée Lucas Mc Elhinney, Jace Cooper, and Wade Cooper; two great grandchildren, Drake Macomber and Brantlee McElhinney.

Byron was preceded in death by his parents and one brother Eldon Cooper, on June 4, 1997.

He attended the Queen City Public School and graduated with the class of 1966. After graduation he worked for Caterpillar in Aurora, IL for several years. From 1976 to 1982 he was a self-employed truck driver. In April of 1982 he went to work for Waspy Trucking and was employed there until August of 1989. He drove for J.J. Stukel from September 1989 to 1998, and worked for C.T.S. doing maintenance from 1998 to 2001. Byron moved to Greentop in 2002 and continued Truck driving until his retirement. After his retirement he helped his son with his Construction Business.

He was a member of the Greentop Masonic Lodge #635 AF &AM.

He was a wonderful father, grandfather, and friend and will be greatly missed.

Funeral service will be at 1:00 p.m. Thursday (February 5, 2015) at the Dooley Funeral Home with Pastor Ben Wheeler officiating. Burial will be in the Queen City Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Lucas McElhinney, Gilbert Schmitter, Jimmy Webber, David Crabtree, John Adniskey, and Jeremy Lefler. Honorary bearers will be Larry Lay, Jim Judd, Jerry Conner, Jerry Rowland, Mike Whitlow, and Jeff Lewis.

Visitation will be held after noon Wednesday (February 4, 2015) with family receiving friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. with a masonic service by the Greentop Masonic Lodge at 6:00 p.m. at the
