Lois “Elaine” Williams

Lois “Elaine” Williams, 75, of Unionville, MO passed away peacefully at her home on March 14, 2015.

Elaine Williams was born on September 27, 1939 in Lucerne, MO the daughter of Elbert and Beulah Houston (Ingersoll). She attended the Hillcrest Rural School as a young woman and later married Dorsey Shahan who preceded her in death. On February 19, 2000 she married Leon Williams.

Elaine was a wonderful homemaker. She tended both a vegetable and flower garden and loved to can and cook from them. Elaine was an outdoors kind of lady who enjoyed fishing, hunting, and camping. Elaine’s signature gift was being a wonderful seamstress. Everyone she was acquainted with received a baby blanket. She was very proud of her sewing ability making sure most of her family’s clothes were hand made. Elaine would even spoil the grandchildren with special custom made doll clothes. Simply tending to her family brought her the greatest joy.

Elaine Williams is survived by a daughter Debbie Simmons and husband Jim of Queen City, MO and a son David Shahan and wife Lisa of Unionville, MO. Elaine’s surviving step-son is Scott Williams and wife Mary and her step-daughter is Stephanie Campbell and husband Ronnie. Elaine’s surviving grandchildren include Jamie Simmons and wife Ashley, Samantha Simmons, Bryan Powless and wife Becky, Amanda Hamilton and husband Stacy, Daniel Shahan, and Hillary Shahan. Surviving step-grandchildren are Rodney Williams and, Ashley and Josh Campbell. Elaine’s surviving great grandchildren are Lucas Chloe, Dylan, Haylee, Brooklyn, Jacob, Noah, Avery, and Easton and her step great grandsons are Nolan and Riley. She is also survived by a sister Irene Spring and husband Butch of Centerville, IA.

th by a brother, Bill Houston and an infant brother, Larry.

Elaine’s funeral service was held on Tuesday, March 17th, 2015 at 11:00am at the Playle and Jones Family Funeral Home in Unionville, MO. Elaine’s visitation began one hour prior to her service.
