Bobbie Dale Busby, 68, of Lucerne, MO passed away at the Wayne County Hospital in Corydon, IA on March 14, 2015.
Bobbie Busby was born on October 4, 1946 in Newtown, MO, the daughter of Robert and Methwee Coddington. She attended grade school in Worthington and high school in Jennings, MO. Later in life she married Keith Busby and he preceded her in death.
Bobbie’s life was filled with such joy and laughter. She was a tomboy indeed. As a child she would rather be outside with her ball, bat, and glove than a doll. Bobbie’s love for baseball came at an early age going with her dad to see the St. Louis Cardinals play. When her children were young she would play catch in the back yard with them, hoping they would love baseball as much as she did.
Bobbie had a green thumb when it came to her flowers; she enjoyed working in the yard. The Lucerne Fair was a high light for her. It was more like a family reunion, so many people gathered around the Coddington home. As soon as it was over she began getting excited for the following year.
Bobbie was a beautiful dancer and music was playing in her home daily. One of her greatest passions was spending time with family and friends, playing cards, and always having a pot of coffee to share with all.
Bobbie Busby is survived by two sons, John Wesly Houk and wife Tanja of Clinton, MO and Daryl Lee Houk and wife Vicky of Gulfport, MS and a son-in-law, Steve Richardson of Crestview, FL. Bobbie’s surviving grandchildren are Anthony Richardson, Blake Richardson, Brian Richardson, Steven Houk, Kristen Houk, Katie Houk, and Wyatt Houk. Surviving step-grandchildren are Clint, Elizabeth, Stephen, and Danielle. Bobbie’s great grandchild, Savanna and two step-great grandchildren, Harper and Lily also survive along with a brother, Ona Coddington and wife Roselee of Elsberry, MO, an uncle, Harvey Kelly and wife Peg of Mitchell, SD and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
In addition to her husband and parents, Bobbie was preceded in death by a daughter, Jackie Richardson and two infant grandsons.
Memorials for Bobbie are suggested to the Family and may be entrusted to the Playle and Jones Family Funeral Home, 709 S. 27th St., Unionville, MO 63565.
