Blue Hoover

Blue Hoover, 66, of Unionville, MO, passed away at Boone Hospital Center in Columbia, MO, on Monday, April 13, 2015, after a brief stay.

Loran Lewis “Blue” Hoover was born in Green City, MO, on July 12, 1948, the son of William Forrest and Mary Elizabeth (Lane) Hoover, who preceded him in death. He was reared in the Green City area and began work at an early age. Blue was always counted as a good worker who could build or fix anything, whether as a carpenter or a mechanic. He worked and traveled all across the country. The last several years he had worked on the farm for Don Summers.

Blue was a good friend who would help anyone. He was outgoing and friendly with those he knew. He was a good story teller. Blue liked to hunt deer and to fish. He loved his family and will be sorely missed.

Blue is survived by his sons, Joe Suitt and companion Sherry Wilson of Conway AR; Eddie Banner of Atkins, AR; Lewis Couch of Milan, MO; Billy and Lori Hoover of Unionville, MO; Blue Hoover of Pickering, MO; and Ben Hoover of Conway, AR. Twenty-three grandchildren and twelve great grandchildren also survive as well as two brothers, Pearl Hoover of Milan, MO, Al Hoover and wife Janet of Pickering, MO, and three sisters, Helen Claypool and husband Don of Kirksville, MO; Jennie Hoover of Davenport, IA; and Linda Farmer of Pickering, MO. Blue is also survived by Sherry Hatfield, a RAIL worker whom Blue thought of as a daughter.
Blue was preceded in death by two brothers, Roy Wayne Hoover and Bud Hoover, and two sisters, Beverly Eddy and Hazel Atkins, as well as half-brothers Ike Hoover, Gerald Hoover, and Harold Hoover and half-sister, Gladys Spicer.

Graveside services for Blue Hoover were at the Scobee Cemetery in Pollock, MO, on Saturday, April 18, 2015. Visitation was at Playle and Jones Family Funeral Home in Unionville, MO, on Friday, April 17, 2015.
