Myloure Schubert

April 17, 1917 — May 28, 2015

Myloure Schubert, 98, of Lucerne, MO, passed away at the Corydon Nursing and Rehab Center in Corydon, IA, on Thursday, May 28, 2015.

Myloure was born on April 17, 1917, the daughter of John and Cleo (Rogers) Flater, who preceded her in death. Myloure was given her unusual name by an uncle who named her after a racehorse. That must have instilled in her a love for horses that she carried with her all her life. Myloure graduated from Lucerne High School in Lucerne, MO. She married Albert L. Schubert on January 30, 1946. He preceded her in death on January 3, 1996.

Myloure and Albert made there home on a farm northwest of Lucerne, MO, where Myloure lived until 1999 when she moved to Lucerne. She was a typical farmer’s wife of that era, helping on the farm, raising a garden, and being an excellent cook. She also loved to raise flowers and friends remember her home on the farm and in Lucerne as having beautiful flowers. She was a good seamstress. Having no children of her own, she often helped neighbors make clothing for their children. She also liked to crochet.

Myloure had an independent spirit and a good sense of humor. She was a private person who liked solitude, but she did enjoy a good game of Yatzee with friends. She was a fan of the Kansas City Royals baseball team and liked to listen to them on the radio. She lived a simple life and appreciated the friends who helped care for her in later years.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a half-brother.

Myloure is survived by many, many friends.
