Leora Witt, 101 of rural Queen City passed away Sunday, June 7, 2015, in the Boone Hospital in Columbia, Missouri.

The daughter of Orley and Daisy (Champ) Brooking she was born on February 2, 1914, in Ridgeville, Indiana. On December 3, 1936, in Ridgeville she was united in marriage to Raymond Witt.

She grew up in Ridgeville, attended school there and graduated from the Ridgeville School.

After her marriage to Raymond they continued to live in Ridgeville until 1959 when they moved to their present farm in rural Queen City.

Leora is survived by her daughter Judy Knight and husband Robert of Queen City, three grand children : Wendy Skaggs and husband Steve of Queen City, Deana Shahan of Mediapolis, Iowa, and Rocky Knight of Queen City. She is also survived by great grandchildren Ray Skaggs, Ashley Smith, Xanadu Jerald and husband Philip, Ryan Gillespy, Bobbie Jo Knight, Hope Allensworth and Moragan Verkuilen , great great grandchildren, Steve Skaggs, Marcus Skaggs, Kaylina Mc Henry, Dion Jerald, and Dominick Jerald. Leora is also survived by a sister-in-law, Flossie Mitchell of California and a brother-in-law Johnny Saylor of Indiana.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Raymond on April 1, 1991, an infant daughter Shirley Kay, a granddaughter, Bobbie Jo Jacobs and two brothers.

She attended the Greentop Baptist Church.
Leora enjoyed working on the farm. She was a loving Mother and Grandmother and loved her grandchildren dearly.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Thursday (June 11, 2015) at the Dooley Funeral Home with Pastor Sonny Smyser officiating. Burial will be in the Greentop Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be Rocky Knight, Philip Jerald, Terry Morgan, Shannon Bowen, Joshua Smith, and Mike Box.

Visitation will be held after 11:00 a.m. Wednesday (June 10, 2015) with the family greeting family and friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Dooley Funeral Home.
