Connor Pogemiller

Connor Douglas Pogemiller 22, passed away on the evening of June 4, 2015 in Midland, Texas as a result of injuries received in an automobile accident.

He was born November 13, 1992 in Pontiac, Michigan and is the son of Douglas Pogemiller and Robyn Kollar. He attended Kirksville Schools and graduated from Kirksville High School in 2011. He was a member of the soccer team, tennis team and attended Missouri Boys State. Connor also attended Moberly Area Community College. Most recently he lived in Midland, TX and was an agent for the American Automobile Association (AAA).

Connor had diverse interests throughout his life and was enthusiastic about soccer, music, snowboarding, mountain biking and tennis. His life’s ambition was to be a pilot and it was not uncommon to find him operating his flight simulator. Most notable was his love and passion for his family, friends and his companion Addy, a playful border collie who he adored. Connor always had a smile and encouraging word for those he knew and anyone he encountered, taking the time to express a genuine interest in their well-being.

Connor lived a life full of inquiry with a deep, abiding curiosity and concern about the world around him. He had an irreverent wit and sense of humor, was intensely loyal and his friendship was deeply valued by many. He will always be remembered for his authentically kind heart and love of adventure.

Connor is celebrated and survived by his parents Robyn Kollar of Columbia, MO and Douglas Pogemiller and his partner Michael Peterson of Austin, TX; his brother Cole Pogemiller also of Austin and his sister Kylie Pogemiller also of Columbia; his stepbrother Keenan Peterson and stepsister Brie Peterson both of Cedar Rapids, IA. He also leaves his maternal grandparents J.O. and Linda Kollar of Greentop, MO; his paternal grandmother Beverly Barnes of Fairfield, IA; his Aunt Dana (Kollar) and her husband Doug Flora of Kansas City, KS; his Uncle Jay and his wife Naomi Kollar of Fort Myers, FL; and his Aunt Jackie (Pogemiller) and her husband Wes Greenfield of Birmingham, IA.

A memorial service will be held at The Crossing Church in Kirksville, Missouri on Saturday, June 13 at 1:00 PM.
