Robert Dale (Bob) Strickler

Robert Dale “Bob” Strickler, age 88, of Brashear, MO, passed away Friday, June 19, 2015, in Northeast Regional Medical Center in Kirksville, MO.
He was born in Novelty, MO July 7, 1926, the son of Clyde and Minnie V. Murray Strickler. He was united in marriage to Clara Norene Ward on August 26, 1976, in LasVegas, NV and she preceded him in death on March 7, 2012. Bob was also preceded in death by his parents and one brother Charles Strickler, one sister-in-law Irene Carter and three brothers-in-law Norman, Merle, and Wayne Ward.
Surviving are one nephew Larry Ledford and wife Connie of Brashear, MO, one brother-in-law, William Ward and wife Helen of Fulton, MO, three sistesr-in-law Verna Drennan and husband William of Kirksville, MO, Jodell Ward of Kansas City, MO and Barbara Ward of Macon, MO, and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
Bob graduated from Brashear High School and served in the United States Army from 1944 to 1946. Bob has lived the past 40 years in Brashear, MO where he was a self-employed truck driver.
Bob was a past board member of Mark Twain Telephone Company and a founding member of the Northeast Missouri Antique Car Club. Bob loved antique cars & shows, traveling, cards and visiting with people.
Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Thursday, June 25, 2015, in the Davis-Playle-Hudson-Rimer Funeral Home in Kirksville, MO. Reverend Daryl Draper will officiate the services.
Entombment will be held at a later date in the Good Shepherd Mausoleum in Park View Memorial Gardens.
Musical selections will be, Go Rest High On That Mountain and How Great Thou Art.
Visitation will be held Thursday, June 25, 2015, from 10 a.m. till time of services at 11 a.m. in the Davis-Playle-Hudson-Rimer Funeral Home in Kirksville, MO.
Memorials may be made to the Brashear United Methodist Church. Memorials may be left at or mailed to Davis-Playle-Hudson-Rimer Funeral Home, 2100 East Shepherd Ave., Kirksville, MO 63501.
