Janet Loree Roe
Janet Loree Roe, 77 of Kirksville passed away Wednesday (June 24, 2015) at Northeast Regional Medical Center.
The daughter of Glen and Edith (Payton) Klingsmith, she was born February 2, 1938 in Yarrow, MO. On April 7, 1956 in Unionville, MO she was untied in marriage to Robert W. Roe Jr and he preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by her parents; one son, Robert M. Roe Sr. and one brother, Ron Klingsmith.
Janet is survived by one daughter, Sherrie Lynn Roe of Kirksville; a daughter-in-law, Shannon Roe of Moberly, MO; three grandchildren, Robert M. Roe Jr. of Moberly, MO, Susan Roe of Columbia, MO and Sheila McCartney of Moberly, MO; two great grandchildren, Alexa and Kelsey; two great great grandchildren, Connor and Brooklyn; and two nieces, Kara (Kevin) Yancey and their children, Lydia and Gabe of Fulton, MO and Amy (Jason) Trimble and their children, Amanda and Zac. of Jacksonville, FL.
Janet lived in the Yarrow community in her young life where she attended the Mt. Zion, Hays and Mt Carmel Schools; she graduated from the Kirksville High School in 1955. She became part of the Nind community while her parents ran the store. After her marriage she and Robert continued to live in the Nind community until moving to Kirksville in 1977. She was employed as dietary manager at KOH and Grim Smith Hospitals. Her last and favorite job was working for Head Start where she worked until retiring in 2001.
She was a member of the First Liberty Full Gospel Church. She enjoyed going to meetings for the graduating class of 1955. She loved to cook and spending time with her kids and grandkids.
A memorial service will be held at 1:00 p.m. Saturday (July 11, 2015) at First Liberty Full Gospel Church with Pastor Fred Baker officiating. Burial will be in Union Temple Cemetery.
Visitation will be from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Friday (July 10, 2015) at First Liberty Full Gospel Church.
