Karen J. Robinson
Karen Jeanette Robinson, 70 of Kirksville passed away Sunday (June 28, 2015) at Northeast Regional Medical Center.
The daughter of Max and Marvel Louise (Noland) Helms, she was born August 4, 1944 in Kansas City, MO. On January 24, 1981 in Kirksville she was united in marriage to Virgil Lee Robinson.
Karen is survived by one son, Terry Barton of Milan, MO; one daughter, Kandy Yardley of Kirksville; one daughter-in-law, Jenifer Marsh of Milan, MO; one sister, Diana Thombs of Kirksville; three grandchildren, Jeffery Massey, Taylor Barton, and Dakota Kincanon; one great granddaughter, Sienna; one aunt, Francis Helms of Milan, MO; and several cousins.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Virgil; her parents; her grandparents, Orris and Myra Noland; and one daughter, Tracy Lynn Saxsma.
Karen grew up in Milan where she graduated high school with the class of 1962. She was a nurse at the Milan Hospital. She later became a real estate agent and then attended Kirksville College of Cosmetology. She owned and operated her own beauty shop and craft shop. She worked for Chariton Valley for 8 years and then for 16 years she worked for Wal-Mart until she retired.
She has served on the board of the Humane Society. She enjoyed writing and was a published poet. She also enjoyed her pets and flowers.
Funeral service will be held at 2:30 p.m. Sunday (July 5, 2015) at Davis-Playle-Hudson-Rimer Funeral Home. Burial will be in Highland Park Cemetery.
Visitation with the family will be from 1:00 to 2:30 p.m. Sunday at the
Davis-Playle-Hudson-Rimer Funeral Home
