Hazel Lucille Turner

Hazel Lucille Turner, 99 of Kirksville died Monday July 13, at Kirksville Manor Care Center.

She was born in Knox County, MO on April 13, 1916, the daughter of Charles Lee Turner and Nancy Isabelle (Martin) Turner.

She was preceded in death were her parents and five brothers, Henry Earl "Toney" Turner, George Franklin Turner, Roy Lester Turner, Walter Lee Turner, Joseph William Turner, two sisters, Gladys Rachel Turner, Mrs. Alvis (Mildred) Mason of La Plata, MO.

She was raised and received her education in Knox County rural schools, moving to Kirksville in 1921 and was employed at the International Shoe Company until 1947. From 1946 until 1980 she was co-owner of Turner's Grocery retiring in 1980. She was a long time member of the Church of God Holiness, Kirksville.

Funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday (July 16, 2015) at Davis-Playle-Hudson-Rimer Funeral Home with Pastor William Hayton officiating. Music will be provided by Donald Cooper organist and Linda Hayton Soloist. Burial will be in Brashear Cemetery in Brashear, MO.

Visitation will be from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. Thursday (July 16, 2015)
