William “Bill” Wayne Doman was born October 20, 1949 in Unionville, MO, the son of Millard and Imogene (Starr) Doman of Powersville, MO and died July 11, 2015, in Putnam County, MO, at the age of 65. Bill passed away suddenly, while out in the timber; a place he truly enjoyed. Bill was an avid outdoorsman. He found peace being in the woods whether hunting, fishing, camping, cutting wood or feeding and watching the song birds. One of his greatest joys was seeing that his sons also enjoyed nature and its bounty. Bill was a huge St. Louis Cardinals fan and rarely missed listening to a game.
Bill grew up on a farm northeast of Powersville, MO. He attended elementary school in Powersville, MO, middle school at West Putnam R-III and graduated from Unionville High School in 1967. While employed as a Putnam County Deputy Sheriff, Bill graduated from the Law Enforcement Academy in 1982 at Moberly Area Community College. After graduation he worked as a Unionville City Patrolman for 5 years. Bill has been a truck driver now for over 30 years and was employed by LLL Transport at the time of his death.
Bill married Cynthia “Cindi” Louise Cummins on November 26, 1977 in Unionville, MO. They had 37 years together and raised 2 sons and welcomed a daughter-in-law into the family; Colt Wesley Doman, Hartsburg, MO and Seth William Doman and wife Brittney Allene, Columbia, MO. Bill and Cindi resided in Unionville, MO until 1993 and then moved to Estes Park, CO. They returned to Clifton Hill, MO, to raise their pre-teen boys in the country. After the boys graduated from high school, Bill and Cindi moved closer to their jobs in Macon, MO, where they now live.
Bill is survived by his wife, Cindi, and children Colt, Seth and Brittney. Also surviving are Bill’s brother and sister in-law, Jacob “Jay” Henry Doman and Millie Doman of Unionville, MO. Bill was preceded in death by his parents and 2 sisters, Elizabeth Ann Doman, Colette Jean (Doman) Evans and father and mother in-law George W. Cummins and Iva P. (Ottwell) Cummins. He is survived by many special in-laws, nieces and nephews. Uncle Bill was loved dearly by his nieces and nephews and will be sadly missed by them.
Bill accepted the Lord Jesus Christ in 1991 and was baptized at the First Christian Church in Unionville. He was currently a member of Crossroads Christian Church in Macon, MO. The family takes great comfort knowing he is in the arms of Jesus.
Private family services will be held July 15, 2015 at Playle and Jones Family Funeral Home in Unionville, MO.
