James “Bud” Keim

Bud Keim, 79, of Queen City passed away early Tuesday morning (August 4, 2015) in the Schuyler County Nursing Home.

The son of Jacob & Iva (Peavler) Keim, he was born August 17, 1935 in rural Kirksville. On September 5, 1953, in Harrison, Arkansas he was united in marriage to Margaret Barnes, who preceded him in death on March 8, 1992. He was also preceded in death by his parents.

Bud is survived by his sons, Larry Keim and wife Judy of Greentop and Jim Keim and wife Mindy of Queen City; four grandchildren, Dana Batterson and husband Jason of Bloomfield, IA, Casey Keim of Greentop, Crystal Whitlow and husband Travis of Queen City, and Madison Keim of Queen City; three great grandchildren, Carter Batterson, Collin Batterson, and Brenna Whitlow; a sister, Jeanetta Niece of Kirksville and a brother-in-law, Ronnie Barnes and wife Janice of Lakeview, AR and four nephews.

Bud attended the Willmathsville Elementary School and graduated from the Greentop High School. After school Bud went to work for TH& N in Kirksville as an electrician. After a short time he went to work for Missouri Power & Light and worked there for forty-two years, retiring in 1998. Bud and Margaret lived in Kirksville when they were first married and in the late 1960”s they moved to Queen City.

He was founder and President of the Wrangler 66 Saddle Club and a member of the Queen City Pioneer Association. He was a member of the Queen City Masonic Lodge.

Funeral service will held at 10:00 a.m. Friday (August 7, 2015) at the Dooley Funeral Home with Pastor Ben Wheeler officiating. Burial will be in the Queen City Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be John Mihalovich, Renny Henness, Danny McCarty, Don Reynolds, Harry Young, and Ron Camp. Honorary bearers will be Frank Sanders, Bob Killday, Bobby Jo Smith, and Frank Broseghini

Visitation will be after 1:00 p.m. on Thursday (August 6, 2015) with the family receiving friends and family from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. with a Masonic service will be held at 7:00 p.m. in the
