Una Mae Bunnell

Una “Mae” Bunnell, 83, of Unionville, MO, passed away peacefully at the Putnam County Memorial Hospital on August 23, 2015.

Mae was born in Unionville, MO, on July 16, 1932, the daughter of Jarret Brandon and Una Bell (Cotton) Carson. Mae spent her entire life in Putnam County graduating from Unionville High School. Mae was a gentle person who was uncomfortable around crowds so she found herself happiest in very small groups. She enjoyed simple things like watermelon, flowers, puzzles, and crocheting. Mae liked to collect certain items, but her doll collection got most of her attention. She was very patient with children and loved their company. Mae lived by the words “be kind to people and they will be kind to you.”

Una Mae Bunnell is survived by 5 siblings. Mae’s sisters are Gladys Jean Demry of Unionville, MO, Anna Marie Morris and husband Henry of Cedar Falls, IA, Judith Irene Hopkins of Ottumwa, IA, and Roberta Kay Brown and husband Robert of Independence, MO. Mae’s brother is Jerrett Lee Carson and wife Shirley of Centerville, IA. Several nieces and nephews also survive along with special neighbors and friends- the Roof family.

In addition to her parents, Una Mae was preceded in death by a brother, Jim Carson, a niece, Linda Ehrlich and a brother-in-law, John Hopkins.

Graveside services for Una Mae will be held at the Unionville Cemetery in Unionville, MO, at 11:00 am on Thursday, August 27, 2015. Interment will follow.

Memorials for Mae are suggested to the family and may be entrusted to the Playle and Jones Family Funeral Home, 709 S. 27th St., Unionville, MO 63565.
