Theresa Hinerman

Theresa Hinerman, 62, of Kirksville, MO, passed away suddenly at Northeast Regional Medical Center on Saturday, February 14, 2009.
Theresa Joan (Howard) Hinerman was born February 28, 1946 in Centerville, IA, the daughter of Clarence and Marion (Phelps) Howard, who preceded her in death. On April 8, 1967 she married Gary Hinerman in Unionville, MO, and he survives at home in Kirksville.
Theresa and Gary moved to Des Moines, IA, for a brief time after their marriage, but then moved back to Centerville, IA, where Theresa worked at St. Joseph Hospital as a nurses’ aide. In 1972 they moved to Kirksville and Theresa worked at KOH. In 1974 they moved to Moberly where they lived until 1978. Theresa worked as a nurses’ aide in Moberly. They lived in Kirksville from 1978-1984 when they returned to Moberly. In 2005 they returned to Kirksville. Theresa worked as a nurses’ aide for over 18 years.
Theresa liked to sew and do embroidery. She was also secretary-treasurer of the Missouri Checker Player’s Association from 1981-1995. She and Gary enjoyed traveling to various locations to participate in checker tournaments.
Other survivors of Theresa are a brother, Raymond Howard and his wife Ruth of West Grove, IA; and a sister, Shirley Hinerman of Indianola, IA. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
In addition to her parents, Theresa was preceded in death by a twin sister, Margaret Howard, who died in infancy.
Graveside services for Theresa Hinerman were held Tuesday, February 17, 2009, at the Hinerman Cemetery north of Livonia, MO. A visitation was held one hour prior to the service. Pastor Kevin Collins conducted the service. “In The Garden” was played as a recorded musical selection. Casket bearers were Paul Bradshaw, Jr., Shane Bradshaw, James Leach, Leroy Leach, Clifford Brown, and Frankie Brown.
Memorials for Theresa Hinerman are suggested to the Hinerman Cemetery and may be entrusted with Playle and Jones Family Funeral Home, 709 S. 27th St., Unionville, MO, 63565.
