Pansy Mae Cunningham, 98, of Kirksville passed away Thursday, (February 19, 2009) at Twin Pines Adult Care Center.
She was born May 31, 1910 in Sullivan County, MO, the daughter of Daniel and Margret Malinda (Walker) Gramling. On February 8, 1930 in Lancaster, MO she was united in marriage to Delmas Cunningham who preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by her parents, four brothers, and five sisters.
She is survived by one daughter, Phyllis McCartney and husband Paul of Kirksville; three grandsons, Steve McCartney, Bruce McCartney and wife Paula, and Bobby McCartney and wife Debbie all of Kirksville; one great-granddaughter, Briana McCartney, two great-grandsons, Dalton Joe McCartney and Brice Lee McCartney and several nieces and nephews.
Pansy was reared on a farm in western Adair County, and graduated from Grandview High School in western Macon County. For a brief period of time following her education she taught school at Kent Rural School in western Adair County. After her marriage Pansy devoted herself to her family as a homemaker and farm wife. In 1973 due to her husband's health they moved to Kirksville.
Graveside service will be held Sunday, February, 22, 2009, at Ringo Point Cemetery in Western Adair County, MO, with Virgil Jones officiating.
There will be no public visitation. Services are under the direction of
Davis-Playle-Hudson-Rimer Funeral Home
