Roy Junior Hewitt, 89 of Willmathsville, Missouri passed away Monday, September 28, 2015 at Northeast Regional Medical Center in Kirksville, Missouri.

The son of Roy Samuel Hewitt and Sylvia (Bryn) Hewitt, he was born July 10, 1926 on the farm where he currently lived. On October 29, 1950, in Greentop, Missouri, he was united in marriage to Theresa Shaw

Roy is survived by his wife, Theresa Hewitt; one son, Roy A (Buzz) Hewitt of Greentop, MO; three daughters, Barb (Greg) Goettsch of Fredrick, CO, Linda (Chris) Vanolinda of Rogersville, MO, Pam (Larry) Carter of Springfield, MO; two sisters, Carole Moots of Greentop, MO, Louise Lyons of The Villages, FL.; two half-sisters, Virginia Miller of Auxvasse, MO, Betty Franklin of Jefferson City, MO; one sister-in-law, Kathryn Thomas of Kirksville; eight grandchildren, Brittaney (Jason) Sterling, Calvin (Carmen) Vanolinda, Kathy (Ben) Rich, Jeese Vanolinda and fiancé’ Brittany Dimitroff, Diane Fraizer and friend John Salcido, Nathan Hewitt, Andrea Hewitt, Tyler Platz and friend Kira Blightone; 6 great grandchildren, Madeline Sterling, Jackson Sterling, Carson Vanlinda, Cash Fraizer, Raiden Hewitt and Charlotte Killingsworth.

He was preceded in death by his parents; grandparents; one brother, Leon Hewitt; infant son; and daughter-in-law Sherry Hewitt.

Roy was born on a farm near Willmathsville, and raised on that farm by his grandparents. He graduated from the Greentop High School and served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. After returning home from the Navy he went back to the family farm where he spent his life farming. He was on the Willmathsville cemetery and church boards, PTA and 4-H. He was a good natured man that loved helping people and being involved with his children and grandchildren attending many of their activities.

Funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday (October 2, 2015) at the Davis-Playle-Hudson-Rimer Funeral Home with Dan Todd officiating. Burial will be in the Willmathsville Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be his grandsons, Tyler Platz, Nathan Hewitt, Ben Rich, Jason Sterling, Calvin Vanolinda, and Jesse Vanolinda.

Visitation with the family will be from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Thursday October 1, 2015 at the
