Connie Lee Mckay

Connie Lee McKay, 69, of Cincinnati, IA passed away at the Methodist Hospital in Des Moines, IA, on Saturday, October 3, 2015, following a sudden illness.

Connie McKay was born on October 28, 1945 in Centerville, IA, the daughter of Robert and Mary (Sales) Seals who preceded her in death. Connie graduated high school and attended college. On October 31, 1963 Connie married Lora Mckay in Unionville, MO. They shared 46 years together before Lora’s passing in 2010.

Connie tended to her family and home all her life. She enjoyed the simple things near to her like reading, her pets, and raising a garden when her health allowed it. What Connie most enjoyed were family dinners and the preparation she put Into them. It was her way of spoiling the family she loved.

Connie McKay is survived by a daughter, Angela McKay of Bloomfield, IA and 5 grandchildren; Jodi DeVore, Ausin McKay, Hoss McKay, McKayla Tully, and Joshua Tully. Three great grand children survive; Benjamin DeVore, Bella DeVore, and Lilyanna Tully along with a sister, Marie Williams.

In addition to Connie’s husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Tom McKay; grandchild, Joshua McKay; step son, Marty McKay; and a sister, Marge Miller.

Memorials for Connie are suggested to the family to help defray funeral expenses in lieu of flowers and may be entrusted to the Playle and Jones Family Funeral Home, 709 S. 27th St., Unionville, MO 63565.
