Henrietta Ann Clover

August 16, 1960 — October 10, 2015

Henrietta Ann Clover, 55 of Graysville, MO went to be with her Lord on Saturday October 10th, 2015 from cancer.

Henrietta Ann Clover was born August 16, 1960 in Yuma, Arizona to Linda Lou (Boatwright) Clover and Henry Hamlin Clover.

Henrietta was raised as an only child by her mother, Linda, who was shot and paralyzed when Henrietta was six years old. Her mother told her when she was 16 that her real father’s name was Clarence Gamble, but she was never able to verify or find him. She was raised around the Des Moines, IA area, but also lived in Johnston, Ira, and Colfax, IA; Georgetown and Lexington, KY; Birmingham and Clanton, AL; Greentop, Worthington, Unionville, and Graysville, MO.

On November 22, 1982, Henrietta married David Jesus Garcia, in Des Moines, IA, in which Stephen Paul Clover was born on August 25, 1983, after their divorce on July 20, 1983. On September 9, 1984, she married Gary Lester Kilmer, in Des Moines, IA, with which she miscarried 2 children, and later was divorced on September 20, 1985. On October 15, 1988 she married Craig Allen Treadway, in Des Moines, IA, which was annulled on December 1, 1988. On February 11, 1991, Henrietta gave birth to Sarah Elizabeth Lydia Clover, in Des Moines, IA, but was never married to her father, Philip K. Knight. On July 4, 1996, she married Robert Leon Solomon, in Graysville, MO, and later divorced on November 8, 1996. She chose not to have any relationships after that.

Henrietta loved her children, Stephen Paul (Micah Phoenix) and Sarah Elizabeth Lydia (William Athon); and grandchildren, Judah Baruk Sutter, Grayson Elijah Clover, Deakin Paul Clover, Zeke Garcia Clover, and Link Rune Phoenix-Clover dearly. She was extremely proud of all of them. She loved them.

She had 2 half-sisters: Susan Kingsbury of New Virginia, IA; and Elizabeth Heller of Ankeny, IA, which she was not raised with.

She learned to sing from her mother, Linda, and learned to play guitar, bass, drums and some piano on her own. She had also learned some banjo, violin and accordion. She sang with the group, “New Beginnings,” but played drums, guitar, sang and did puppeteering with the gospel group “Psalms 33” with her mom. They recorded a cassette tape called, “Psalms 33.” She was also asked by a friend to sing backup on a song on his record. She loved to sing, hoping that others would be blessed by the words that were sung as she sang in churches, nursing homes, care centers and the like. She always wanted to ‘cut a record’ of her own in which she could have recorded songs she wrote, but was only able to record some songs on a cassette tape, which was for a couple that was getting married. She loved animals, especially horses, and grew up around them. When she was young she wanted to be a veterinarian, but life didn’t lead her in that direction. She loved giving of herself to others and sometimes didn’t even tell them that she did. She had plenty of pain and heartache in life, but found that Jesus Christ was her comfort and dependence. She also forgave.

She was preceded in death by her mother; father; grandmother, Annabelle Lamberson; grandparents, Paul and Marie Boatwright; two children.

A visitation will be held at Playle & Jones Family Funeral Home on October 16th, from 5:00 PM to 7:00 PM. The funeral will be held on October 17th at 10:30 AM. Henrietta will be laid to rest in the Rose Cemetery in Graysville, MO between her mother, Linda L. Clover and grandmother, Annabel (McFarland) Lamberson.

She will be greatly missed by her family; best friend, Kathy Mathews; and many friends.

She suggested memorials be given to her grandchildren’s musical endeavors, in place of flowers or gifts, as she would have rather had those when she was alive.
